We ask for very little of your data, we use it only to do our work, and we never sell it. This page says the same thing in the detail the law rightly requires. It is written to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. What we collect, and why
When you request an invitation (through our website form), we collect your name, email address, phone number, the journey you’re interested in, and anything you write in your message. We use this to respond to you, to hold the conversation and screening call that every SoulTales journey begins with, and to assess fit – ours and yours.
When you correspond with us – by email, phone, or WhatsApp – we keep that correspondence, because journeys are planned inside conversations.
If you confirm a seat, we collect what operating your journey genuinely requires: passport details, date of birth, emergency contact, dietary needs, and the health information you choose to share during screening (see our Terms for why we ask). This is collected directly from you, off the website, and handled with corresponding care.
When you browse this website, our analytics tool collects standard, largely anonymised usage data – pages visited, approximate location, device type – so we can understand what’s useful and what isn’t. Our site also includes an Instagram embed and a WhatsApp chat widget; each is operated by its provider and may set its own cookies, governed by their privacy policies (Meta for both). If you join the Inner Circle, we collect your name and email address to send you our letters and community updates, and to give members early access to journey windows. You can unsubscribe at any time from any letter, and we’ll remove you promptly. Your email is stored with the email service provider we use to send letters, acting on our instructions.
Testimonials, photographs and films. Nothing you say or that is captured of you on a journey appears in our marketing without your separate, written, after-the-journey consent. Films made of you on a journey are private by default – they belong to you, and only you decide if they are ever seen. This is a design principle before it is a policy.
We do not collect payment information on this website. Payments are made offline, by invoice and bank transfer, after your seat is confirmed.
2. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not send marketing you haven’t asked for. We do not use automated decision-making on your data. Our journeys and website are intended for adults (18+); we do not knowingly collect children’s data.
3. Who we share data with
Only those who need it to make your journey happen: our ground partners, hotels, camps and transport providers receive the minimum required (typically your name, rooming preference and, where legally required for bookings or permits, passport details). For international editions, this means your data travels to the country of your journey – Morocco, Italy, Spain and others as our calendar grows – shared only for operating your journey, under confidentiality expectations we set with every partner. Our analytics provider processes website usage data on our behalf. If the law requires disclosure, we comply.
4. How long we keep it
Invitation inquiries and correspondence: up to 24 months after our last exchange, so a conversation can resume where it left off. Booking and financial records: as long as Indian law requires. Consented testimonials, photographs and films used in our public material: for as long as the consent stands – you may withdraw it at any time and we will remove the material from future use.
5. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you may ask us at any time to: access a summary of the personal data we hold about you; correct or update it; erase it (where we have no legal duty to retain it); withdraw any consent you’ve given, including for testimonials, photographs or films; and nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf. Write to info.soultales@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy request” and we will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case as the law requires. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
6. Security
We keep your data on access-controlled systems, share it on a need-to-know basis only, and never publish anything identifying you without consent. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affects your data, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
7. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we’ll update this page and the date above. Continued use of the website after changes indicates acceptance.
